There's a clear shortage of skilled professionals in almost all disciplines across the esports industry — especially as games become more popular and their productions become larger. The market size for esports is expected to rise to $2.96 billion by 2022, and hiring managers tell us time and time again that they need more industry-ready talent now to prepare. Hitmarker, a leading esports jobs aggregator, predicts there will be over 22,500 jobs posted on its platform this year alone.

Even better, the skills you'll learn won't be limited to esports itself. Businesses, educational institutions, and more are recognizing the value of having esports-savvy professionals among their ranks as their involvement in the scene steadily increases.

The biggest brands are on board.
Well-known brands like Intel, The Coca-Cola Company, Mercedes-Benz, and The Walt Disney Company have invested into esports.
Celebrities are in the game.
Figures like Steph Curry, Mark Cuban, and Steve Young have substantially backed esports as an extension of traditional sports.
Universities are taking note.
Over 100 universities have started esports teams and programs, using them as a differentiating factor to attract students.
